Prayer Guide 06 September 2020

Sunday

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
I thank You, Father, for the example of the life of Jesus. Help me to follow in His steps, knowing that whoever truly follows Him will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.

Forgive me Father, for the times I have chosen darkness over the light of Your presence. Help me to love You above all others and all other things (Pause and ask the Holy Spirit to reveal those things that are keeping you from following closer to Jesus.).

May I listen to Your voice, be known by You and follow You. May I not be a stumbling block in anyone’s path or be discredited as Your disciple because of my words or actions, for You have said in Your Word that whoever claims to live in Jesus, must walk as He did!

Instead, may I become a disciple who, like the apostle Paul, can say to others without boasting, “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ!” Empower me by Your Spirit to be an example of Jesus in my home, place of work, neighbourhood and school. May my encounters with friends and strangers alike be seasoned with the presence of Christ.

May my thoughts be fixed on You, Lord Jesus. In everything, may I set an example by doing what is good. Even in the face of suffering, may I be an example of patience.

And Father, I ask that You would give me opportunity to entrust to someone else all that You are teaching and showing me, that I might truly become a disciple who makes disciples. May I be a worthy vessel through whom You can implore others to come to Christ.

I ask that You entrust me with spiritual sons and daughters Lord.

I ask that lasting fruit to be the result of my journey with Jesus.

I ask for eternal, Kingdom impact (Continue praying as the Holy Spirit leads you.).

In the Name of Jesus, who can do even more than I can imagine, Amen and Amen.

Monday

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
Lord Jesus, our times are filled with such evil. May we, as Your people, be careful in the way that we live and wise in all that we do. Help us to make the most of every opportunity for the purposes of Your Kingdom (Ephesians 5:15-16).

May we be a people who forgive others, as You Lord, have forgiven us, and extend grace to one another freely (Matthew 10:18).

Father, I ask that You give to us, as Your people, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know You better! Open the eyes of our hearts Father (Ephesians 1:17-18)!  (Pray this for those you know at ECB by name).

Tuesday

Father, I ask that we would be conformed to the image of Christ. May we be increasingly counter-cultural in the way that we live and unified under the ‘culture of Christ’! Renew and transform our minds and increase our hunger for Your Word (Romans 12:1-2).

May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25). Smash the idols in our lives that we might love You only.

Wednesday

ECB Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you. To receive a weekly Prayer and Fasting e-mail, please contact [email protected]
As you pray, mention by name those from the ECB community of faith that the Holy Spirit brings to mind.

Keep us from turning away from You, Father. May we be steadfast and unmovable, always giving ourselves to Your work (1 Corinthians 15:59). Strengthen us with joy, I pray (Nehemiah 8:10).

Father, may we be strong in You and in Your mighty power, and not put confidence in our own strength. May my brothers and sisters put on the full armour that You have provided – may we ‘put on’ Jesus! Remind us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood and strengthen us to stand firm. Teach us to pray (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Pray that righteousness will prevail in the nation of Thailand. Pray that the hearts of those in political positions will be drawn to Jesus. Pray that Jesus will be revealed to the hearts of Thai people in dreams and visions and through the testimony of His Church.

Father, may those who lead us, our pastors, elders and deacons, have Your wisdom. Increase their discernment, Father. Pour out Your Spirit on them.

Thursday

May we be a people who forgive others as You Lord, have forgiven us, and extend grace to one another freely (Matthew 10:18).

Father, deliver us from lust, I pray and purify our hearts until our greatest passion and desire is for You alone (Matthew 5:27-30).

Father, may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger (Ephesians 4:26; 4:2). Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility.

Forgive our timidity, Father, and embolden us to be risk-takers for the sake of Your Kingdom (Ephesians 3:30; Hebrews 11:1, 6)!

Pray that each of us at ECB, will be given a fresh understanding of the reason that we are here in the nation of Thailand, for such a time as this. Pray that we will become determined to fulfil that which God has called us to. May our daily living display Christ in greater and greater clarity, and the imprint of Jesus left on all we touch.

Friday

Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ who are entangled somehow in sin. I ask that they would receive a fresh glimpse of You watching for their return, and run into Your arms (Luke 15:20-24).

Father, I pray for those among us who have unbelieving spouses and prodigal children. (Pray for those you know of by name…) I ask that You encourage them by Your Spirit and give them a sign of Your goodness, so that they do not grow weary or fall into unbelief while they wait on You. Empower my sisters and brothers to live out Christ in such a way that the hearts of their loved ones are drawn to You.

Pray that the message of the Gospel that has been sown into this nation for decades and are dormant in the ground will be watered by the Spirit, come forth and produce fruit.

Saturday

Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray! Change us and wash us by Your Word! Keep us from just listening to Your Word – may we be those who do what it says (Psalm 51:15; Ephesians 5:26; James 1:22)!

May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).

Give us ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the church, what you are saying to me.

Pray that each of us at ECB will be given a fresh understanding of the reason that we are here in the nation of Thailand, for such a time as this. Pray that we will become determined to fulfil that which God has called us to.
