Prayer Guide 11 October 2020

Sunday

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Praise the Lord, O my soul! All my inmost being, praises Your Holy Name –
I will not forget all the things You have done!
You forgive all my sins (Hallelujah!) and heal all my diseases.
You have redeemed my life from the pit – from sin, darkness
and destruction, and crowned me with love and compassion.
You satisfy my desires with good things and renew me.
You are compassionate, O Lord, slow to anger, and abounding in love.
You do not treat me as my sin deserves or repay me according to my iniquities
(Hallelujah! Praise Your Holy Name)!

All the angels who do Your bidding and obey Your Word, praise Your name,
O Lord. All Your heavenly hosts, Your servants who do Your will,
they too praise Your Name my God. All Your creation, everywhere,
under Your authority bless Your holy name – and I will join them all!
My Soul cries out “Great are You Lord! How awesome are Your deeds!”
Praise the Lord!! Praise the Lord!!
I praise You, O God, for what You are doing among Your people, the sheep
of Your pasture, at Evangelical Church of Bangkok.
By Your Spirit, You are turning our hearts of stone into hearts of flesh!
You are restoring to us the joy of our salvation. Yes!
Joy and gladness are being renewed in our hearts, and I praise Your name!
You are releasing the tongues of your people
to sing of your righteousness and declare Your praise!
You are teaching us to love what You love.
Only You can do these great things!
Only You can breathe the life of Your Spirit into dead places!
Only You can revive and transform Your church!

I will praise You forever for what You have done; and in Your name I will continually hope, for Your name is good. I will praise You in the presence of Your people! I will lift up my hands in the sanctuary and bless Your great name, declaring among Your people that ‘Your love endures forever!’ I will not be kept silent in proclaiming Your greatness and giving You glory!

This day, Father, may I be found faithfully praising You in word and deed, heart songs and meditations and acts of love and service. May all that I do and say be a reflection of my love for You, that Jesus may be exalted in and through my life. For Your name and renown are the desire of my heart!
Psalm 103; Psalm 66:3; Psalm 100:3; Ezekiel 11:19; Psalm 51:12-15; Ezekiel 37:3-5; Psalm 134:2; Psalm 136:1; Luke 19:40; Psalm 29:1-2; Isaiah 26:8

Monday

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
“Praise pierces the darkness, dynamites long-standing obstructions and sends the demons of hell fleeing. As you praise the Lord, worry flees. Praise drives away frustration, tension and depression. Praise drives out the darkness and turns on God’s light. Praise cleanses the atmosphere of Satan’s suggestions of doubt, criticism, and irritation. Praise gives you a heavenly transfusion.” Let all that has breath Praise the Lord!
Wesley Duewel, Touch the World Through Prayer

May each of us come before you with songs of thanksgiving and joy – open our lips that we might declare Your praise – may our hearts be unleashed! Keep us from just listening to Your Word – may we be those who do what it says (Psalm 51:15; Ephesians 5:26; James 1:22)!

Tuesday

In all things, Lord – our conversations and actions, public occasions and solitary moments – may we live our lives in such a way that we are found worthy of the calling that we have received in You (Ephesians 4:1).

May the love of Jesus be evident among us, drawing those who do not yet know You, to faith in Him. May the seekers among us, come to faith in Christ!

Father, I ask that the gifts of the Spirit be released on us in greater measure, that there would be no lack in any area of ministry among us! Establish the work of our hands for Kingdom purposes, I pray (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27)!

Wednesday

ECB Prayer and Fasting Focus
Wednesdays have been set aside as a day of prayer and fasting for the ministries of ECB and to ask God for a greater outpouring of the Holy Spirit among us. You are invited to join in praying and fasting during one or all meals, or from something that is important to you. To receive a weekly Prayer and Fasting e-mail, please contact [email protected]
Father, I ask in Jesus’ name, that You give us fresh understanding of the authority that we have because of the blood of the Lord Jesus and His finished work on the cross. May we, as Your people, walk as ‘more than conquerors’ (Psalm 44:5; Romans 8:37; Ephesians 6:10; Romans 12:21; 1 John 5:4; 2 Corinthians 6:7).

Father, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus who are still struggling under a load of guilt and shame. Remind them, I pray, that there is no longer any condemnation – that You have removed their sin from them as far as the east is from the west! Silence the lies of the enemy and strengthen them to stand firm and be victorious (Romans 8:1; Psalm 103:12)!

Heavenly Father, empower us by the Holy Spirit to walk in the light and be imitators of Christ (Colossians 2:13; 1 John 2:6; Ephesians 5:1).

Pray that our children and youth will increasingly be those who do not love the world or the things of the world, but become radical Jesus-followers (1 John 2:15-17).

Thursday

Father, it is written that we as Your people should “throw off everything that hinders us, and the sin that entangles us” so that we can run the race of faith. May we be increasingly radical about holiness and hold onto nothing that keeps us from following Jesus with all of our hearts (Hebrews 12:1-2).

It is written that we should not “love the world or the things of the world’. Help us Lord! Increase our love for You, that everything else might diminish and Christ Jesus, increase (1 John 2:15)!

Where there is depression or despair, discouragement or doubt among us, may it be dispelled in Jesus Name and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit be poured out on our community of faith (Romans 15:13).

Friday

Pray that as God’s people, we will more and more become students of the Word – that the Word would dwell in us richly and truly be the standard by which we live and conduct ourselves, that Jesus would be seen in us with power.

Father, I lift up our Elders and Pastors to You and I ask that as they lead us, they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven, that is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere” (James 3:17). Pour out Your Holy Spirit on them Lord, that they might minister among us with great power and wisdom. Lead them by Your Holy Spirit.

Ask God to reveal to us in what ways we come near to Him with our lips (what we say or sing in His presence), but keep our hearts far from Him (Isaiah 29:13; Matthew 15:8).  Sit quietly and allow the Holy Spirit to show you these things in your own life as well…

Saturday

Pray that revival will fall on the Thai national Church, that the harvest might come in! Pray that the Word of God will go forth with power from every Thai pulpit, convicting of sin and drawing the hearts of all who hear to the love and forgiveness of Jesus!

Pray for our Pastors, that they will never be lacking in zeal but keep their spiritual fervour as they serve Jesus (Romans 12:11).

Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today, to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray!  May each of us come before you with songs of thanksgiving and joy – open our lips that we might declare Your praise. May our hearts be unleashed (Psalm 51:15)!  Keep us from just listening to Your Word, may we be those who do what it says (Ephesians 5:26; James 1:22)!
