Prayer Guide 14 February

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Lord Jesus Christ, this day I confess that You are the True Vine and we, Your people, are Your branches. I ask that I and my brothers and sisters, might be reminded continually, that unless we are connected to You, there will be no lasting spiritual fruit produced by our lives. May we respond to Your voice calling us into deeper intimacy with You. Teach us to abide in Your presence (Pause and pray for those in the ECB church community, that they will listen for and respond to the Holy Spirit. Ask that your ears might be tuned to His voice).

May we, Your church, be strengthened with the resurrection power of Christ, that we might be able to turn back the battles of our lives and stand firm in our faith.

May our eyes be fixed on You alone, for without You, we can do nothing (Pray for those in our community of faith who are experiencing trials. Ask that they might be strengthened to persevere).

Strengthen our hearts, Lord Jesus, that we might live our lives in such a way, that we will be found blameless and holy when You return. For it is Your will that we should be holy and live lives that are pleasing to You.

Strengthen us with power through the Holy Spirit, I pray, for without You, we can do nothing (Pray that a greater hunger for holiness will be poured out on the ECB body of Christ).

Build Your church through us, Father – we do not want to labour in vain! Keep us from serving, ministering, living, in our own strength. Forgive us for the ways that we have relied on our own wisdom, abilities and resources instead of Your Spirit.

May we serve and minister with hearts that are fully devoted to You, and be strengthened, for without You we can do nothing (Pray for the ministries of the ECB faith community asking that those who serve will minister in the strength of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray for our pastors).

Remind us continually, that it is Christ in us, the hope of glory, who strengthens us to fearlessly engage in the work of the kingdom. This day Father, for the sake of Your church and a world that does not yet know You, may our lives be marked by increasing boldness, confidence – even risk-taking.

May You be strong in and through us, Your mighty power displayed, and Your name glorified. For without You, Lord Jesus, we can do nothing.

Be our strength this day. Be my strength. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
I pray for those in our fellowship who are young in their faith, and ask that You protect them from the evil one. Give them a hunger for Your Word. May they grow in godliness.

Give wisdom to those who lead us, Father!

Father, transform us by the renewing of our minds, that we might not be conformed any longer to the patterns of this world. May we become increasingly radical in our desire for holiness! Purify us, Lord (Romans 12:1-2)!

Father, may we truly hate what is evil and cling to what is good. Destroy every deed of darkness among us, and may we put on the armour of light, clothing ourselves with Jesus only! Reveal the hidden things, Father! Purify us and make us holy (Romans 12:9; 13:12-14)!

Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy. Raise up others to lead (Pray for LIFE Group leaders that you know, by name).

Father, may the world know that we belong to You by the way that we love one another. May the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace increase in our fellowship. Help us to be completely humble and gentle with one another and to bear with one another in love (Ephesians 4:2-3).

May Your favour rest upon us Lord and the work of our hands for the sake of Your kingdom purposes, firmly established (Psalm 90:17).

Father, I ask that we as Your people, might be increasingly known for our lavish love and forgiveness of one another. Keep us from pride that kills the work of Your Spirit and hardens our hearts to Your voice calling us to ‘run home’ to You. Give to us, I pray, the gift of brokenness and repentance. May we be clothed in humility (Luke 15:11-32; 1 Peter 5:5).

May we, as Your people, stand firm and let nothing move us. May we always give ourselves fully to Your work. Encourage us, remind us, that our labour for You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58) (Pray for those in our fellowship that you know of by name).

Father, I ask that by Your Spirit, You would bind up the broken-hearted among us and set captives free. I pray for my brothers and sisters who are trapped in their minds by the pain of hurtful memories. I pray for healing in Jesus’ name, and ask that their minds would be renewed and their living transformed (Isaiah 61:1; Romans 12:1-2).

Continually remind us Father, that sharing with others is a pleasing sacrifice to You. O God, make us to be a generous people (Hebrews 13:16; Philippians 2:4; Jude 22-23)!

I pray for our children and young people, Father, and ask You to strengthen them to stand firm in their faith and make a difference for Your kingdom in their respective schools. Protect them from the evil one and may they follow You all the days of their lives (John 17:15).

Lord Jesus, help us to abide in You, that we might bear spiritual fruit and by doing so, show that we are truly Your disciples. Allow us, I pray, to see harvest come in, and souls come to know you, Jesus (John 15:5-8)!
Father, protect us from the love of money. May we be increasingly content with what we have, knowing that You will never leave us – that You are our help and we need not fear (Hebrews 13:5-6).

You have said Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!

Father, I pray that those who are leading LIFE Groups will be empowered and anointed by Your Holy Spirit. Fill them with great joy and establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17)!

May each of us come before you tomorrow, with songs of thanksgiving and joy! Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather, and change us into a people that is conformed to the image of Jesus!

May Your Word go forth with power and accomplish all that You intend. Give us ears to hear what Your Spirit would say to us. Anoint the preaching of Your Word, I pray – may those who lead us in worship be empowered by Your Spirit and those who come tomorrow who do not yet know You, be drawn to You.

Father, I ask that You build this house called ECB – we do not want to labour in vain!

In Your good pleasure, make ECB prosper. May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18).
