Prayer Guide 28 February

Sunday

Connecting my heart to the heart of the Father
Father, how I thank You for the way that has been made for me to have relationship with You through the sacrifice of Jesus. Thank You for demonstrating Your great love for me by sending Christ to die for me, at just the right time, while I was powerless and still in my sin. And now, having been justified through my faith in Him, I have peace with You, Hallelujah (Pause and worship the Lord)!

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for I remember when I was separated from You, without hope and without God… (Pause and remember what life was like before you knew Jesus – give thanks for His salvation) But now, Lord Jesus, because of Your great sacrifice, I have been brought into relationship with Father God. You are my peace, for You are the One who has destroyed the barrier, the wall that was between me and the Father!

Forgive me Lord, for the times that I live as if Your sacrifice was not enough and I try to prove and purify myself by good works. Remind me by the Holy Spirit, that it is You that has made peace with God for me through Your blood shed on the cross. I thank You for the peace that You have given me, not like the world tries to give, but true peace with God the Father. Empower me and strengthen me by Your Holy Spirit, that I might not let my heart be troubled or fearful. Let me be captivated by the truth that I have been brought near to You and there is no longer any sin-debt held against me!

May the reality of these truths capture my heart once again, Lord. May my living be transformed, my relationships rejuvenated, my praise and worship – unending! Rid my life of fear and hesitancy and let me instead be increasingly confident to enter into Gospel living with others.

I praise You, Lord Jesus, for You are the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world – Who has taken away my sin! Thank You, Jesus. Thank You, Jesus! I praise Your Holy name and choose to walk this day, under the banner of Your forgiveness and acceptance.

Monday

Praying the heart of the Father for the ECB Faith Community
Father, may we as Your people be those who are willing to go out into ‘deeper water’ with You. I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ, I ask for myself Lord, keep us from standing on the shore and passively listening and watching. May we enter into the life of the Holy Spirit and the work of Your kingdom (Luke 5:1-11)!

Remove doubt and unbelief among us and replace it with holy boldness. Confirm Your Word among us with signs and wonders, that You Lord Jesus might be exalted and the unbelieving come to know You and our own faith increase (Acts 4:29-30)!

Father, I ask that we would be conformed to the image of Christ. May we be increasingly counter-cultural in the way that we live and unified under the ‘culture of Christ’! Renew and transform our minds and increase our hunger for Your Word (Romans 12:1-2).

Tuesday

Lord Jesus, our times are filled with such evil. May we as Your people be careful in the way that we live and wise in all that we do. Help us to make the most of every opportunity for the purposes of Your kingdom (Ephesians 5:15-16) (Pray for those at ECB that you know by name, that they will be protected from the evil one).

You are the God of all hope, Father. I pray that you will fill my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB with joy and peace that their hearts might overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Where there is depression or despair, discouragement or doubt, may it be dispelled in Jesus name and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit be poured out on their lives (Romans 15:13).

May our eyes be fixed on what is unseen and eternal – increase our longing for heaven and for You – that earth would hold nothing that we desire. Smash the idols in our lives that we might love You only (2 Corinthians 4:18; Psalm 73:25).

Wednesday

Pour out Your Holy Spirit on our pastors, Father, that they might minister among us with great power and wisdom.

Father, I ask that You give to us as Your people, the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that we might know You better! Open the eyes of our hearts Father (Ephesians 1:17-18) (Pray this for those you know at ECB by name)!

May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 127:1; Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).

Thursday

You have said Lord, that You will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask – Father, I ask! Fill me afresh with Your Holy Spirit! Pour out Your Spirit on my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB! Revive us – change us! Conform us to the image of Jesus (Luke 11:11-13; Psalm 85:6; Romans 8:29)!

Father God, reveal to each of us the reason that You have us here in the nation of Thailand, the city of Bangkok, at this time. Captivate us again with Your calling on our lives that we might truly live as people of a heavenly kingdom. May the light of Jesus shine through us, crossing cultural and language barriers. Use us as Your people I pray, to bring the Gospel of Jesus to this nation!

Lord Jesus, help us to abide in You, that we as Your people might bear spiritual fruit and by doing so, show that we are truly Your disciples. Allow us, I pray, to see harvest come in, and souls come to know Jesus! Open spiritual eyes, I pray (John 15:5-8).

Friday

Father, may we not give the enemy a foothold in our lives by holding onto anger. Set us free from the need to be right. May our relationships be increasingly marked by humility. May we be a people who forgive others as You Lord, have forgiven us, and extend grace to one another freely. May the unity of the Spirit increase among us (Ephesians 4:26; Matthew 10:18).

Father, may we like Mary, learn to sit at Your feet and not worry about the many things in our lives that press in around us. May we be strengthened to choose the ‘better way’ of intimate fellowship with You. Draw us by Your Spirit (Luke 10:41-42).

Father, I pray for those among us who have unbelieving spouses and prodigal children. (Pray for those you know of by name.) I ask that You encourage them by Your Spirit and give them a sign of Your goodness so that they do not grow weary or fall into unbelief while they wait on You. Empower my sisters and brothers to live out Christ in such a way that the hearts of their loved ones are drawn to You.

Saturday

May our times of personal and corporate worship be infused with fresh Spirit-life I pray. May we worship You in spirit and in truth and give You the glory due Your name (John 4:23-24).

Father prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart, I pray! Make our hearts ready for the seed of Your Word – Father, make me hungry for Your Word! May each of us come before you tomorrow with songs of thanksgiving and joy! Pour out Your Spirit on us as we gather and change us into a people that is conformed to the image of Jesus!

Anoint our Pastor I pray – may those who lead us in worship be empowered by Your Spirit, those who come tomorrow who do not yet know You, be drawn to You. May there be salvation in the house of God!

Build ECB into a ‘house of prayer for all nations’ Lord! May prayer truly become the ‘fuel’ of every ministry. Teach us to pray. Use tomorrow morning’s House of Prayer gathering to take us deeper in prayer. Father fill us with such passion for You that we seek You, Your Kingdom and Your righteousness – first. Holy Spirit reveal to us the ways and the things that we seek first instead of seeking You (Matthew 6:33).
