Prayer Guide 02 May 2021

Sunday

Dwelling on what is excellent and worthy of praise If anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things. Philippians 4:8

Heavenly Father, I come before You in the name of Jesus, for myself and on behalf of my brothers and sisters in Christ, and ask that we might be strengthened by the Holy Spirit to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Jesus! May our relationships, our service and ministries, our worship, conversations and daily living, be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

May all unwholesome, ungodly thoughts – things that are contrary to the standard of Your Word and not like Jesus – be put to death in us. May we guard our hearts above all else, knowing that it is what we feed our minds that fuels our attitudes and words (Pause and be still before the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you in what way you have allowed the enemy to influence your thinking).

Forgive us, Father, for we have not disciplined our minds. We have given into the patterns of the world, entertained ourselves with things based on the principles of this world and allowed our minds to become numb. We have not nurtured the mind of Christ (Pause and confess those things that the Holy Spirit brings to mind).

Father, I ask that we would increasingly be a community of faith that hungers earnestly for Your Word. May we not resist the ways that it judges our thoughts and attitudes, but live in submission to the truth, - agreeing with Your Word and putting it into practice. Wash our minds with the Word, I pray.

I ask, Lord Jesus, that this day we, Your church, engage the battle for our minds. May the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts truly be pleasing to You, and our minds, controlled by the Holy Spirit, that life and peace might flow from our lives!

By the work of the Holy Spirit in each of us, Lord, begin to change our faith community from the inside out this day. Wake us up to the ways that we are giving into the evil one in our thinking. May our hearts and minds be filled with the truth of Your Word, prayer and blessing and our lives overflow with noble, right and pure living.

Do this I ask, that we might come alive, and the glory due Your name be received from us in greater and greater measure! In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Monday

May we, Your people, increasingly cast all of our cares onto You and seek Your kingdom and righteousness in all things (1 Peter 5:7; Matthew 6:33).

Father, I lift up our pastors and elders to You, and I ask that as they lead us, they will be given “wisdom that is from heaven, that is pure, peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere”. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on them Lord, that they might minister among us with great power and wisdom (James 3:17).

Tuesday

You are the God of all hope, Father. I ask that You fill my brothers and sisters in Christ at ECB with joy and peace, that their hearts might overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Where there is depression or despair, discouragement or doubt, may it be dispelled in Jesus’ name, and the encouragement of the Holy Spirit be poured out (Romans 15:13).

Consider praying this prayer out loud as you look out a window of where you live:

Father, I declare Your Word over the city of Bangkok, that the earth is Yours, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it belong to You (Psalm 24:1)!  Thailand belongs to You Father! Bangkok is Yours, O God! And Thai people are Your inheritance! This day I pray that Your name be exalted in this nation. May the Holy Spirit be poured out, revealing Jesus to the hearts of the people of this country through dreams and visions, and through Your Church. May darkness be pushed back in the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ and His glory and greatness revealed! Lord Jesus may You be exalted in this land! May You be glorified in this nation! For You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God – there is no other God besides You, and I ask these things in Your great name. The name of Jesus! Amen!

Wednesday

Prayer and Fasting Focus
Ask God to breathe new life into our community of faith by His Spirit, so that we might worship Him for who He is. Pray that we will increasingly praise Him and give Him the glory that He is due. Ask the Holy Spirit to sponsor new songs of praise and worship among us.

May our times of personal and corporate worship be infused with fresh Spirit-life, I pray. May we worship You in spirit and in truth, and give You the glory due Your name (John 4:23-24).

Ask God to reveal to you in what ways you might come near to Him with your lips (what you say or sing in His presence), but keep your heart from Him (Pause and allow the Holy Spirit to show you these things) (Isaiah 29:13).

Father, I pray for those among us who are struggling with doubt and unbelief, and ask that You infuse their living with fresh faith and signs of Your goodness. Protect them from the evil one (Mark 9:24).

Thursday

Father, I ask that the Holy Spirit be poured out on our hearts, bringing dead places to life, softening hard hearts. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation!

Lord Jesus, I ask that Your healing power would rest upon those among us who are struggling physically. May sickness and disease be gone in Your mighty name (Pray for those you know of by name…)!

Strengthen marriage relationships among us Lord, and may my single brothers and sisters be empowered to walk in purity. Make us strong in You, I pray.

Father, protect us from the love of money. May we be increasingly content with what we have knowing that You will never leave us - that You are our help and we need not fear (Hebrews 13:5-6).

Father, may those who lead us have Your wisdom in regards to possible facility expansion and future plans for ECB. May we walk in the way You choose for us!

Friday

Father, make ECB to be a house of prayer for all nations. Teach us to pray, Lord, by Your Spirit, teach us to pray (Mark 11:17)!

Pray that we will be a broken and repentant people before the Lord. Ask God to give us the gift of tears as a sign that He is softening our hearts. Pray that as the people of God we will learn what it means to seek Him with all of our hearts and walk in His ways (Psalm 119:2).

Father, it is written that it is improper for Your people to engage in sexual immorality, any kind of impurity or greed, and so I ask in Jesus’ name that all deeds of darkness be crushed in our lives. May we walk in the light of Your presence (Ephesians 5:3-5)!

Father, destroy all spiritual passivity in our lives and infuse us with fresh resurrection power! Transform the way we live and make us to be risk-takers for the sake of Your kingdom (Ephesians 1:18-20).

Saturday

Strengthen our pastors to serve with joy and anoint the preaching of Your Word as we gather tomorrow.

Awaken Your Church in the city of Bangkok I pray.  Encourage pastors. May Your Word go forth in power from every pulpit and Jesus be revealed!

Father, prepare the hearts of Your people today to worship You tomorrow. Prepare my heart I pray! Make our hearts ready for the seed of Your Word – Father, make me hungry for Your Word!

May many be led to Jesus and Your love spread through the city of Bangkok through our lives. May Your favour rest upon us Lord. Establish the work of our hands (Psalm 51:18; Psalm 90:17).
