Business Fellowship

Welcome to the Business Fellowship (BF) at ECB!
BF is open to anyone attending ECB (and their colleagues/friends) who work in the corporate marketplace including entrepreneurs, businessmen/women, professionals, educators and those who work in governmental organizations (e.g. UN, embassies).

Mission and Vision

To educate, encourage and equip Christ-followers to be effective disciples in their business and marketplace through fellowship, education, mentorship and prayer.

Our fellowship verse is from Matthew 5:13-16:

Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

When do we meet?

We hold a dinner event once a month which takes various formats: panel discussions, speakers and/or workshops. The topics at these events address relevant and important issues for followers of Jesus in the marketplace.

Details of upcoming events are usually given in announcements during ECB services and in the BF Line group.

Vocation and Work as Worship

Join us for an inspiring evening with Kara Martin, author of Workship, as she shares how our work can be an act of worship when we recognise it as a calling from God into his redemptive work in the world. Kara will be giving her talk online but the workshop and dinner will be in person at ECB Church.

Kara serves in leadership and faculty roles across multiple theological institutions, including Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, Morling College, the Mockler Center, and the Theology of Work Project. She brings a diverse professional background in communications, HR, business analysis, and consulting to her work.
