Alongside Prayer, the Word of God is our foundation at ECB. In addition to the strong Biblical teaching we receive each Sunday, the Discipleship classes offer a further opportunity to go deeper still and to apply the Word of God to or lives.

Course: Alpha Course
Dates: Beginning Sunday, 21 September 2025, 11:00 AM | Office Building, Room 1101
Description: This course will help you understand core beliefs of the Christian faith. Through engaging videos, each session will answer questions about life and faith, in an environment that is relaxed, friendly and conversational. If you are curious about Christianity and want to understand more about Jesus, or if you are a Christian who wants to build a stronger foundation, this course is for you!

Course: Freedom in Christ
Dates: Beginning Sunday, 14 September 2025, 11:00 AM | Office Building, Room 1204
Description: This course will help you understand your identity in Christ. It will equip you to overcome spiritual struggles, personal conflicts, and learn how to deal with repeating sin patterns and win the battle for your mind. The teaching is video based with interaction in small groups. If you want to grow deeper in your relationship with Christ, this course is for you!

Course: Resolving Everyday Conflict
Dates: Beginning Sunday, 31 August 2025, 09:00 AM | Office Building, Room 1204
Description: The Bible provides us with a simple yet powerful system for resolving conflict.  These principles can be used to resolve the most basic
conflicts of daily life, including conflict in marriage and parent/child
relationships. Yet they have also been used to mediate and arbitrate difficult
court cases, business disputes and lawsuits.  Those studying this class
will find that through the application of Biblical principles, relationships are
strengthened and resolution to even the most difficult conflicts is possible.

Course: Exile & Return (Bible Study Fellowship)
When: September 2025 - May 2026
Description: This year’s study, Exile and Return, invites you on a powerful journey through the Old Testament, where God’s people were called to build His kingdom in a foreign land. Their story is our story—we, too, are strangers in a broken world, called to build for His glory. As we explore how God equips and positions His people, we’re challenged to ask: Am I building my life for Christ? Exile and Return reminds us that our time to build is now.
Books included in this year’s study: Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Esther, Haggai, Zechariah, Nehemiah, and Malachi.
Course: The Marriage Course (7 Weeks)

Description: The Marriage Course: Build a better, stronger marriage.
 
The Marriage Course: A course for any couple looking to invest in building a better, stronger marriage. It runs over seven sessions, and each session begins with sharing dinner as a couple, followed by a fun, insightful video covering topics that are relevant for every couple like Good Sex or Resolving Conflict. In short? Your marriage. But better.

Course 2: The Scientific Case Against Darwinian Evolution (5 weeks)

Description:  We are excited to announce The Scientific Case Against Darwinian Evolution, the second course in Level 2 of the CROSSROADS apologetics program. This course will explore scientific evidence that challenges key aspects of Darwinian evolution, including natural selection, the spontaneous origin of life, the age of the earth, and the Big Bang theory.

You’ll be equipped to respond thoughtfully to the evolution narrative and gain confidence in the coherence between science and Scripture. For more details, see the course plan below.

CROSSROADS is an apologetics program designed to help you solidify your Christian worldview and equip you to engage intelligently with other religions and ideologies. Biochemist Roshanak Lashkari will lead interactive sessions sharing from her spiritual journey as a scientist and former Iranian Muslim. The overall program includes 8 five-session courses organized in three levels: Foundations, Science, and Ideologies.

Description: This Bible class is designed to help you understand how to apply the teachings of Jesus to your daily life.  Based on the Sermon on the Mount, this course will explore practical topics like how to deal with difficult people, how to handle money, or how to build a secure future.  With a combination of helpful videos and group reflection, you will learn relevant principles for a better life.
